Yeah, I'd love to see Ruby become a viable alternative. There used to be Ruby wrapper for Spark. I think it's the cooler language for building DSLs. But Python's hold on the ecosystem was just too strong.

@rorcde Actually my plan with jblas was to use that as the basis for an ML framework built on JRuby. There are beginnings of a wrapper for jblas github.com/mikiobraun/jbl… Being able to extend Java classes in Ruby to add more syntactic sugar was great.
