The computations for my diploma thesis in 2000 on metropolis sampling for TSP were performed on a Pentium with 500 MHz and 384 MB of RAM.

about the same numbers you get with a raspberry pi. Although I'm not sure how the rpi's processor compares even to a Pentium.
